In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the import tuning scene that was already blowing up in the west coast finally made its way to North Carolina.  A small group of car enthusiasts in Winston-Salem, NC caught wind of this trend and started pouring every dime that they had into building their car to look good for the local cruises on Friday nights.  Main Street in High Point, NC was the congregation spot for tuners in the area to show off their build as they roll up and down the strip. Rolling together as a group was so much fun and it was the start for the inception of Team RPM.  Established in August 2003, the team was formed in order to create a car club of friends and family that enjoyed cruising, attending car shows and going to various racing events together. The “RPM” in the name has special meaning and isn’t just an automotive cliché or stand for revolutions per minute.  The “R” stands for Race, which was our first passion and the driving motivation behind modifying our cars.  The “P” stands for Performance, which represents the quality that must go into a build in order for the car to perform well.  The “M” stands for Modification, which highlights the importance of taking a stock car and modifying it to look aesthetically appealing and improving it aerodynamically.  These three pillars form the basis for what we’re about as a car club and the main areas that we focus on.
